TDP Marks 44th Foundation Day, Chandrababu Naidu Reaffirms ‘Cadre First’ Approach
Amaravati, March 2026 : The Telugu Desam Party celebrated its 44th formation day with grandeur on Sunday at its central office, reinforcing its guiding slogan “cadre is the leader” and underlining the party’s continued focus on grassroots workers.

Party national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu addressed party members, stressing that only those who work sincerely for the organisation will be given opportunities to serve as public representatives. He made it clear that leaders who distance themselves from the cadre will, in turn, be distanced by the party leadership.
Naidu highlighted the evolving political landscape, pointing to the proposed delimitation exercise, which could increase Assembly seats by nearly 50 per cent, and the implementation of 33 per cent reservation for women. These developments, he said, would open up significant opportunities for dedicated party workers, especially those committed to public service and organisational growth.
Emphasising discipline and accountability, the Chief Minister urged every party member to uphold the TDP’s image through their conduct and service to the people. He called on leaders and cadre to remain closely connected with the public, understand their concerns, and work towards practical solutions. “If the party is strong, the state will be strong; the party’s victory is the state’s victory,” he said.

Reflecting on the party’s journey, Naidu acknowledged both its successes and the challenges it has faced over the decades. He paid tribute to workers who made sacrifices, endured hardships, and even laid down their lives for the party. Recalling difficult periods, including political conspiracies, attempts on his life, and struggles faced by party leaders and cadre, he credited the party’s resilience to the unwavering dedication of its grassroots workers.
The Chief Minister also referred to his imprisonment between 2019 and 2024, describing it as a testing phase that further strengthened the party’s resolve. He reiterated that the TDP’s current standing is a result of the loyalty and perseverance of its cadre. Warning against internal neglect, he said leaders who trouble or ignore party workers would not be tolerated.
On governance, Naidu highlighted key initiatives undertaken by the state government, including enhanced social pensions, implementation of the “Super Six” welfare schemes, job creation drives, recruitment initiatives, and efforts to attract industrial investments. He reiterated the government’s commitment to not increasing electricity charges and to completing major infrastructure projects such as the Polavaram irrigation project and the development of Amaravati as a modern capital city.
Calling for proactive communication, Naidu urged party members to counter misinformation by staying engaged with the public and effectively conveying the government’s achievements.
Earlier in the day, Naidu hoisted the party flag at the central office in the presence of senior leaders, including Nara Lokesh and state party president Palla Srinivas. Floral tributes were paid to the statue of N. T. Rama Rao, the party’s founder.
Later, Naidu and Lokesh hosted a lunch for senior party workers who have been associated with the TDP since its inception. Representatives from nearly 60 constituencies attended the event. The leaders interacted personally with the workers, enquiring about their well-being and that of their families.
As a gesture of appreciation, Naidu presented new clothes to the senior workers, recognising their long-standing contribution and reaffirming the party’s commitment to honouring its cadre.
