Nitish Kumar Announces Resignation at Final Bihar Cabinet Meeting

Patna, April 2026 : In a significant political development, the final meeting of the Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, concluded on Tuesday at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, marking the end of the current government’s tenure.

The meeting, widely seen as the last cabinet session under the present administration, was attended by both Deputy Chief Ministers — Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha — along with ministers from various departments. Earlier in the day, Nitish Kumar participated in an event at the Patna High Court premises to mark the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar. He paid floral tributes by garlanding Ambedkar’s statue. However, the event witnessed an unexpected disruption when a swarm of bees attacked the gathering, causing panic among attendees. Several participants, including political leaders, reportedly sustained minor injuries due to bee stings.

Meanwhile, senior leader Sanjay Jha praised Nitish Kumar’s leadership, stating that Bihar regained its dignity and carved a distinct identity at both national and international levels during his tenure.
