Deadline for Conversion of Driving License to Smart Card is September 15

Mumbai : A drive to convert driving licenses into smart cards has been initiated through the Taddev Regional Transport Office. Drivers who have obtained their licenses in person are urged to convert their driving licenses into smart cards through the computer system by September 15, 2024.

License holders should be aware that after September 15, records in manual form will no longer be eligible for conversion into smart cards. The construction of an office building, I&C Center, and Driver Training Center is underway at the Taddev Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Mumbai (Central). All license holders issued by this office before November 2006 have manual licenses. These license holders should visit the office to have their licenses entered into the computer system by September 15, 2024. The process of converting manual records into smart cards must be completed by this date.
