24-Hour Work Permission on Holidays for Metro Girders Installation to Speed Up Man-Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro Line – DCM Ajit Pawar’s Instructions
Mumbai : To expedite the construction of the Man-Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar Metro Line 3 in Pune, particularly between Shivajinagar and Aundh, Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Pune, Ajit Pawar, has instructed that the police should allow work on public and government holidays for the installation of girders. He emphasized that care should be taken to ensure smooth traffic flow on the roads beneath the integrated double-decker flyover to avoid congestion. Pawar also announced his plan to visit the site on September 26 to inspect the progress of Metro Line 3.
During a review meeting held at the Ministry today, Pawar discussed the ongoing work on the Man-Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar Metro Line 3. Present at the meeting were Additional Chief Secretary of Finance O.P. Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of Planning Rajagopal Deora, Principal Secretary of Urban Development Asim Kumar Gupta, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Bapu Bangar. Other officials, including Pune Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar, Pune Collector Suhas Diwas, Pune Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale, Metropolitan Commissioner of Pune Metropolitan Development Authority Yogesh Mhse, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, and Joint Police Commissioner Manoj Patil, participated via video conference, along with representatives of the companies involved in the Metro 3 project.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawar stressed that any damage to roads or drainage systems caused by metro construction must be repaired immediately using new technology. He noted that the combination of metro work and damaged roads leads to severe traffic congestion. As such, road and drainage repairs should be completed promptly, and failure to do so would result in action being taken against the responsible company.
