Sewerage project in progress in Mandla

Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company, under the Urban Development and Housing Department, is carrying out rapid work on the sewerage project in Mandla Nagar situated on the banks of the Narmada River in collaboration with the German Bank KFW.

In keeping with the state government’s intention to keep the water of the Narmada river clean and clear, a sewerage network of 125 kilometers has been laid in Mandla. A plan to connect more than 13 thousand houses to this sewerage network has also been finalized. Sewage treatment plants of 9.50 MLD capacity are also being built in Mandla Nagar to dispose of sewage. The special feature of the project is that the water obtained after water purification will be used in works like horticulture, curing, fire fighting etc.

This project will directly benefit more than 75,000 people. The cost of the Mandla Sewerage Project is approximately Rs 126 crore, with ten years of operation and maintenance. The department has instructed the working agency to complete all the project work within the stipulated time ensuring full quality.
