2,680 Voters in Raigad District Exercise Home Voting Rights

Raigad : The Election Commission of India has introduced the facility of home voting for citizens above 85 years of age and those with over 40% disability certification. By November 16, a total of 2,680 voters in Raigad district had availed themselves of this home voting option.

In the Panvel Assembly constituency, 124 senior citizens and 13 differently-abled individuals, totaling 137 voters, cast their votes from home. In Karjat Assembly constituency, 158 senior citizens and 17 differently-abled individuals, totaling 175 voters, exercised their right to vote. Similarly, in Uran Assembly constituency, 66 senior citizens and 16 differently-abled individuals, totaling 82 voters, voted.

In Pen Assembly constituency, 545 senior citizens and 58 differently-abled individuals, totaling 603 voters, cast their votes from home. Alibag Assembly constituency recorded 442 senior citizens and 27 differently-abled individuals, totaling 469 voters. In Shrivardhan Assembly constituency, 423 senior citizens and 107 differently-abled individuals, totaling 530 voters, utilized the home voting facility. Lastly, in Mahad Assembly constituency, 571 senior citizens and 113 differently-abled individuals, totaling 684 voters, exercised their home voting rights.

The voting process was conducted confidentially under the supervision of the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers of the respective constituencies. Regional officers, polling officers, and booth-level officers participated in the home voting process. Senior citizens and differently-abled voters expressed their gratitude to the Election Commission for this initiative.
