DCM Udhayanidhi Stalin inaugurated the MCC-MRF Innovation Park at Madras Christian College.

    On December 14, 2024, Honorable Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin inaugurated the MCC-MRF Innovation Park at Madras Christian College (MCC), Tambaram, Chennai. The park spans 45,000 square feet and was constructed with an investment of ₹30 crore. During the event, the Deputy Chief Minister shared nostalgic memories of his association with the college, stating that he had attended TOEFL coaching classes at MCC in 1996 before traveling to the U.S.
  2. Significance of MCC:
    Addressing the audience, he acknowledged MCC as one of India’s premier educational institutions, renowned for its contributions to education and social upliftment. The institution has played a pivotal role in empowering marginalized and underprivileged communities over the decades. He extended congratulations to the college, which is set to celebrate its 200th anniversary in 12 years, and praised its historic transformation from an elite institution to one that embraces inclusivity and accessibility for all.
  3. Vision for Tamil Nadu:
    The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the Tamil Nadu government’s Dravidian model of governance, aiming to elevate the state’s economy to $1 trillion by 2030. He emphasized the state’s initiatives, such as “Startup Tamil Nadu” and “Innovation Tamil Nadu,” which focus on fostering entrepreneurship and technological growth. The MCC-MRF Innovation Park, equipped with advanced facilities like Computational Informatics, Technographic Analytics, and Precision Analytics labs, is expected to contribute significantly to these goals.
  4. Economic and Educational Impact:
    Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin expressed confidence that the park would support the growth of over 5,000 startups in Tamil Nadu in the coming years, propelling both the state and the nation’s economy to new heights. He encouraged students to fully utilize the state-of-the-art facilities, develop critical skills, and become innovators and leaders. The park aims to nurture students’ talents and prepare them for the future while advancing Tamil Nadu’s aspirations in innovation and technology.
  5. Gratitude to MRF:
    The Deputy Chief Minister extended his gratitude to MRF Ltd. for contributing ₹30 crore towards this initiative. He acknowledged MCC’s dedication to progress and expressed optimism that the park would serve as a transformative force for the youth of Tamil Nadu.

The event witnessed the participation of distinguished guests, including Tamil Nadu Ministers for MSMEs and Higher Education, Thiru T.M. Anbarasan and Dr. K. Ponmudi, MLAs Thiru S.R. Raja and Thiru I. Karunanidhi, Kancheepuram District Collector Thiru K. Arunraj, and officials from MRF, including its chairman Thiru K.M. Mammen. Professors, students, and staff of MCC also attended the event.
