Departments Must Work on Transparency, Timelines, and Reliability – CM Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, March 2026 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that all departments must work based on the triple principle of transparency, timelines, and reliability to ensure that citizens of the state can access all government services and schemes through a single platform while achieving the goal of a developed Maharashtra.

Under the 150-Day E-Governance Reform Program, the CM honored selected outstanding offices and top-performing office heads with certificates of appreciation at Sahyadri Guest House. The event was attended by IT & Cultural Minister Ashish Shelar, Chief Secretary Rajesh Agrawal, Director General of Police Sadanand Date, along with all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and top officers from various departments, present both physically and via video conferencing.

IT Department to Implement ‘One State, One Portal’ Concept

During the program, CM Fadnavis guided that the IT Department should implement the ‘One State, One Portal’ concept. To prevent confusion caused by multiple government websites, a single integrated portal should be developed, making all government facilities easily accessible to citizens.

A unique ‘Maha ID’ will be created for citizens, allowing access to all government schemes through a single ID, which will help filter data and prevent misuse of services. Many departments have already moved toward e-office systems, and the Chief Secretary has been directed to implement a timeline-based plan to move from low-paper to no-paper administration.

‘Mahasarathi’ Helps Consolidate All Government Data

The CM inaugurated the ‘Mahasarathi’ portal, developed by the IT Department, describing it as a data bank. This portal consolidates all government data, enabling inter-departmental communication and supporting Maharashtra Integrated Data Exchange for data-driven decision-making, planning, implementation, and monitoring.

‘Maha-Vistar’ AI Application Sets a National Benchmark

CM Fadnavis highlighted that the AI and advanced technology-driven services will expand through generative AI, chatbots, and blockchain. The agriculture department’s ‘Maha-Vistar’ AI application has become a national benchmark, including tribal languages and providing comprehensive agricultural and weather-related information. Other departments are encouraged to adopt similar AI solutions.

Performance and Promotions Boost Efficiency

Over the last 150–200 days, 42 departments were reviewed, and approximately 40,000 officers and employees were promoted, increasing efficiency. Maharashtra ranks first nationwide on the iGOT platform. CM Fadnavis congratulated all participating departments and officers for successfully completing the first phase of the 150-Day E-Governance Program.

Best District Collectors: Jalgaon, Thane, Dharashiv, Latur, Kolhapur
Best District Council CEOs: Pune, Sangli, Thane, Nagpur, Nashik
Best Police Superintendents: Thane (Rural), Nagpur (Rural), Akola, Pune (Rural), Ratnagiri
Best Municipal Commissioners: Panvel, Pune, Ulhasnagar, Navi Mumbai, Amravati
Best Police Inspectors/Deputy Inspectors: Nanded, Nagpur
Best Police Commissioners: Nashik, Thane, Nagpur

Additionally, best commissioners/directors, best government institutions/boards, and outstanding officials under the Sevakrami program were also honored by CM Devendra Fadnavis.
