Bilaspur: Ravikumari became Lakhpati Didi by joining Bihaan
Women are writing the story of success by joining the National Rural Livelihood Mission. By joining the State Rural Livelihood Mission Scheme, today the rural women of the district are setting an example of self-reliance. Under this, Ravikumari Didi of Udgan of Maa Sahodra Self Help Group thought of doing something different and started doing sewing, vegetable garden, e-rickshaw, vegetable business and thaal pos making through the group. With these activities, Ravikumari has become Lakhpati Didi today. She is self-reliant today. There has been a lot of improvement in health education and social status. As the president of the group, Mrs. Ravi Kumari Tandon is able to give good education to her children.

Lakhpati Didi Ravikumari Tandon of village Udgan of Bilha block said that with this scheme, she is not only financially self-reliant but using the amount received from the scheme, she is doing her own business from her home. She says that after joining the self-help group, the confidence of women has increased and through this they are learning a lot. After getting the information, she also got guidance regarding setting up self-employment. Loan amount was sanctioned under the scheme, which helped her to set up her own business. Now her family is moving towards economic empowerment.
Ravikumari, while describing the difficulties of her past, says that earlier she used to do only agriculture and labour work. By doing farming for one year, she could earn only 55 thousand rupees annually, due to which there was a shortage of income for her children’s education and home. But after joining the group, she has set up her own business at home by taking a loan of up to 3 lakhs from the bank. Ravikumari is now earning income at home by doing vegetable garden, sewing, vegetable business, making thaal pos along with agricultural work. She has also taken an e-rickshaw. Through all these works, she is contributing to the financial condition of her family. By investing 55 thousand rupees in agriculture work, 36 thousand rupees in sewing work, 24 thousand rupees from vegetable garden, 15 thousand rupees in making thali pos, 1 lakh 80 thousand rupees in vegetable business and 1 lakh 20 thousand rupees from e-rickshaw, the family is earning 4 lakh 43 thousand rupees in the whole year.
Ravi Kumari says that the initiative of the Central and State Government to make women financially self-dependent has proved to be a boon for all women like her. She is rescuing her family from financial crisis through self-employment and is proving to be an example for her surroundings. Ravi Kumari expressed her heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai for the scheme.
