Preparations in full swing for Mahakumbh 2025, authorities assure readiness for any emergency

Mahakumbh Nagar : In a bid to make Mahakumbh 2025 a grand and divine spectacle, a crucial Samvad Karyakram was held on Sunday at the Parade Police Lines in Prayagraj. The event brought together all stakeholders from the district to discuss key agenda points related to the mega event.

Officials assured that every effort would be made to ensure the Mahakumbh is both magnificent and seamless, with all preparations completed on time. Furthermore, they emphasized that comprehensive arrangements have been put in place to handle any emergency situation effectively.

The preparations for Mahakumbh 2025 took a significant step forward during a meeting held at the Parade Police Lines in Prayagraj. The program began with SSP Kumbh Mela, Rajesh Dwivedi, welcoming senior officials and stakeholders.

Key discussions followed on various aspects, including traffic and movement plans, parking arrangements, banning single-use plastic, maintaining cleanliness, railway movement, event layout, and disaster management strategies.

Additional DCP, Commissionerate Prayagraj, Kuldeep Singh, shared insights into the comprehensive traffic plan for the Kumbh Mela and the city. Details of key routes, parking areas near railway and bus stations, and plans for major sites were discussed.

Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Kumbh Mela, Anshuman Mishra, provided updates on key roads, pontoon bridges, and smaller routes while highlighting plans to handle emergencies effectively.

The District Magistrate of Prayagraj announced that permissions for organizing community kitchens (bhandaras) would be granted only after approval, with a restriction on setting up such kitchens along main routes.

Disaster management preparations were highlighted, with contributions from NDRF, SDRF, police, medical teams, and other institutions to ensure readiness for any emergency. Medical teams informed that 25 extra beds have been arranged in hospitals. Efforts to keep Prayagraj clean during the event were also discussed.

District Magistrate (DM) of Kumbh Mela assured that all pending works, including tree plantation and road beautification, would be completed promptly to fulfill the vision of a “Digital Mahakumbh.” The DM emphasized the vital role of stakeholders and citizens of Prayagraj in realizing this grand dream.

Inspector General (PAC) shared his insights and reiterated the importance of collective efforts in making the Mahakumbh a success. He encouraged stakeholders to collaborate and address any shortcomings together.

Commissioner of Prayagraj Division highlighted that the Mahakumbh is a global event and requires a unified effort to ensure its success. He acknowledged the invaluable contributions of Prayagraj’s stakeholders in past events and expressed hope for their continued support in making this Mahakumbh remarkable.

Addressing the stakeholders, the Police Commissioner emphasized that ensuring safety is the biggest challenge in making Mahakumbh 2025 a grand and divine event.

Detailed disaster management plans, deployment of water police, traffic strategies, the use of drones, surveillance, and contributions from state and central agencies are integral to the security arrangements.

Nearly 50,000 personnel will be deployed to ensure the smooth execution of the event, while the role of stakeholders remains crucial.

Additional Director General (ADG) of Prayagraj Zone praised the efforts of officials and stakeholders and assured that any shortcomings in the preparations would be addressed promptly.

He noted that such a massive event has never been witnessed before but expressed confidence that the combined efforts of Prayagraj residents and stakeholders would ensure its success.
