Funds for Public Works, Drought-Free Talukas in 5 Years: Ministers

Drought-Prone Talukas to Be Made Drought-Free in Five Years – Rural Development Minister Jaykumar Gore

Satara : Projects under the Public Works Department in Satara district will be funded, and their completion will be expedited, assured Public Works Minister Shivendrasinh Bhosale.

The inauguration of the Shri Sevagiri Maharaj Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition in Pusegaon was conducted by Minister Bhosale and Rural Development Minister Jaykumar Gore. Present on the occasion were Krishna Khore Development Corporation Vice President Mahesh Shinde, Sub-Divisional Officer Ujwala Gadekar, District Superintendent Agriculture Officer Bhagyashree Farande, Tehsildar Bai Mane, Dr. Priya Shinde, and Shri Sevagiri Devasthan Trust Chairman Suresh Jadhav, along with other trustees.

Minister Bhosale announced plans to construct an outer ring road to ease traffic congestion in Pusegaon and sought the cooperation of local residents for the same. He stated that local cooperation accelerates work. Mentioning the Urmodi Dam in Satara taluka, he highlighted how its water is currently benefiting the drought-prone talukas of Man and Khatav, resulting in significant growth in sugarcane farming in these regions.

He further shared plans to construct a dam at Solshi to ensure year-round water supply for the talukas of Man, Khatav, and Koregaon. This dam would also benefit Jawali taluka. Minister Bhosale assured that adequate funds would be provided for projects under the Public Works Department and that necessary facilities for Pusegaon village would be delivered.

Drought-Prone Talukas to Be Drought-Free in Five Years – Minister Jaykumar Gore

Speaking on the occasion, Rural Development Minister Jaykumar Gore expressed his commitment to making the drought-prone talukas of Satara district drought-free within five years by ensuring year-round water availability. He mentioned that the Solshi Dam has been approved in principle, and efforts are underway for its completion, which will benefit these talukas significantly.

Minister Gore appreciated the Shri Sevagiri Devasthan Trust’s annual agricultural exhibition, noting its role in providing farmers with technical knowledge, exposure to modern agricultural tools, and promoting significant economic activity. He assured that all demands presented by the trust would be addressed.

Vice President of Krishna Khore Development Corporation, Mahesh Shinde, highlighted the administration’s “Healthy Fair” initiative in Pusegaon, which included a health camp for women and encouraged its benefits.

At the program’s outset, progressive farmers from Satara district were honored with the Sevagiri Shetinishtha Awards by the dignitaries. The event witnessed the participation of representatives from various organizations and a large number of farmers.
