Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai visited the departmental stalls at Tatapani Mahotsav

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today visited the stalls set up by various government departments on the occasion of the inauguration of Tatapani Mahotsav and closely observed the local art, culture and the impact of government schemes.

Chief Minister Shri Sai met Shivmangal, a resident of Ara village of Rajpur, who has been working as a potter for 25 years. Shivmangal said that getting an electric wheel has made his livelihood easier. His family is earning an annual income of Rs 2-3 lakh by making traditional earthen pots. Shivmangal’s art was displayed at the festival, where a live exhibition of pots, kulhars and other earthen pots was held. The Chief Minister praised him for promoting traditional art. During this, the Chief Minister also spun the charkha, a symbol of Gandhiji’s self-reliance, on the request of weaver Saudan Singh. The Chief Minister said that the state government is making every effort to promote self-reliance and self-sufficiency.

The Chief Minister visited theme-based stalls set up by 28 departments. These stalls showcased schemes like livelihood model, Amrit Sarovar, biodiversity conservation, organic farming, advanced agricultural technology, floriculture, Solar Sujala Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, traffic awareness, animal disease control and Nalanda campus model. The Shringar Sadan stall demonstrated live bangle and bangle making method. The Millet Cafe exhibited delicious food items made from local millet, while the Tribal Food stall presented a glimpse of tribal tradition, musical instruments, bamboo artifacts and Devgudi.

The Chief Minister said that through these exhibitions, efforts are being made to empower the local communities and preserve their cultural heritage. Appreciating the stall operators and participants, he said that this event is a great medium to reach out to the people about local art, culture and government schemes.
