Good health of mothers and children will become the basis of the state’s prosperity – Chief Minister Shri Sai

The good health of mothers and children will become the basis of the progress and prosperity of the state. The good health of mothers and children is the most important priority of the welfare state of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said this while launching the ‘Swasth Mata – Tandrust Bachcha’ campaign under the IIT Bombay-Jashpur Poshan Mission in collaboration with IIT Bombay at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office in Bagia of Jashpur district today.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai launched the ‘Healthy Mother-Healthy Child’ campaign in Jashpur district to improve the nutritional level of pregnant mothers and children.

Under this campaign jointly run by the Health Department and the Women and Child Development Department, more than 9500 health and Anganwadi workers are fully prepared to take care of the nutrition and health of mothers and children after receiving online training on nutrition through IIT Bombay. Under the campaign, more than 300 master trainers will provide continuous training to the field workers of the Health Department and Women and Child Development Department in the district. The main objective of this initiative is to completely eliminate malnutrition in Jashpur district and improve the health of mothers and children. Under the campaign, the goal is to free pregnant mothers, lactating mothers and children up to 6 years of age from malnutrition. It focuses especially on breastfeeding, nutritional diet and supplementary diet. Through this initiative, pregnant mothers will be given information about the right nutrition, so that children can become physically and mentally healthy.

Lauding the ‘Healthy Mother – Healthy Child’ campaign, Chief Minister Sai said that this initiative would increase awareness about health and nutrition in the district and would also help in eliminating malnutrition and improving the health of pregnant mothers, lactating mothers and children up to the age of 6 years.
