Golf, a sport synonymous with elegance and precision, is now taking on a mission to unite veterans and promote camaraderie through the Veteran Golf Trotterz. This ambitious initiative, spearheaded by Group Captain Jaideep Mandody (Retd.), aims to expand the reach of golf among veteran communities, their families, and beyond.

Mission Statement and Objectives

The Veteran Golf Trotterz initiative is rooted in seven core goals:

1. Promoting Golf: The program encourages active participation in golf among veteran men aged 55 and above and women aged 45 and above, including their spouses.
2. Inclusivity for Veterans: The initiative brings together retired professionals from the Armed Forces, CAPF, Central and State services, as well as distinguished doctors, engineers, lawyers, corporate leaders, and celebrated athletes.
3. Golfing Carnivals and Networking: The organization plans to host golfing carnivals and tournaments across Armed Forces establishments, particularly in Tier II and Tier III cities, to foster connections among veterans.
4. Expanding Golf to Remote Areas: Efforts will be made to popularize golf in remote regions such as Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya, Coorg, and similar destinations, promoting tourism and awareness.
5. Startup Support: The program aims to provide visibility for startups, integrating innovation with corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
6. Caddie Welfare: Welfare initiatives will support caddies at the golf courses hosting tournaments, emphasizing inclusivity and community support.
7. Fostering Camaraderie: Shared events will strengthen bonds and camaraderie among veterans.

About the Promoter: Group Captain Jaideep Mandody (Retd.)

With over three decades of service in the Indian Air Force, Group Captain Mandody exemplifies dedication and passion for sports. As a third-generation Armed Forces officer, he has an illustrious track record in athletics, basketball, and badminton. His association with golf began in 1997, where he has since earned multiple accolades, including the Seniors Bengal Open at Tolly Club, Kolkata.

Beyond sports, his administrative acumen is evident in conceptualizing and constructing two golf courses at Air Force bases in Agra and Vadsar. His leadership as Event Manager during the presentation of Presidential Colours showcases his expertise in planning and execution.

Inaugural Event: Golfing Trotterz Meet

The maiden venture of the Veteran Golf Trotterz is set to debut with the Golfing Trotterz Meet at Hindon Sports Complex (HSC) on February 22, 2025. With its rich legacy as one of the oldest golf courses in the NCR, HSC is a fitting venue for this historic launch.

The event anticipates the participation of 100 golfers, including senior Armed Forces dignitaries, veterans, corporate leaders, doctors, celebrities, and sports equipment distributors. The gathering promises to blend golf with networking, creating opportunities for collaboration and celebrating the shared spirit of veterans.
