Indian Railways Unveils Super App: One-Stop Platform for All Rail Services
Centre For Railway Information Systems on behalf of Ministry of Railways is developing a SuperApp to provide a single platform for all public facing applications of Indian Railways. Initially the App will be offering services for Reserved ticket, Unreserved & Platform ticket, Train enquiries, PNR enquiry, Order food on board, RailMadad and Freight related enquiries. The App is designed to provide users with easy and seamless access wherein special emphasis has been placed on enhancing both the user interface and user experience.

The Indian Railways SuperApp will offer unique features such as:
1. Single-Sign-On: Users will be able to access all services through single credentials. Moreover, the same credentials will be used across existing Apps of Indian Railways like IRCTC RailConnect, UTS Mobile App etc.
2. All-in-One App: On date there are different Apps available for reserved and unreserved booking. Additionally, to check details of train movement/schedule separate App needs to be downloaded. All these services will now be accessible through a unified App.
3. Integrated Services: The integration of services is being carried out to deliver comprehensive information from multiple sources in a cohesive and unified manner. For example, PNR enquiry will also be displaying associated train information.
4. Easy Sign-Up: Users are given facility to use their existing RailConnect or UTS App credential to get onboarded on SuperApp. The sign-up process has been simplified to enhance user experience and make the App easily accessible.
5. Ease of Login: Multiple login options have been provided to enhance user experience. Once logged-in, App can be subsequently accessed either through mPIN or biometric.

Core emphasis of the App is to enhance user experience through seamless & clean United Interface (UI). It not only combines all services at one place but also have several integrations between services to give user a complete package of Indian Railway services.
Once downloaded, the user can use their existing user credentials of RailConnect or UTS on Mobile App to on-board on the SuperApp. Once the user registers on SuperApp, the same user credentials will be used on these two existing Applications of Indian Railways.
It is noteworthy that the single-sign-on facility is one of the unique features of this App which reduces burden from user to remember several passwords. Further, user need not carry several applications for different services of IR, it reduces space consumption on user device as well.
On first login, one e-wallet called as R-Wallet is getting created for every user using which user can book all kind of tickets. If the user is already having R-Wallet on existing UTS on Mobile App, the same will be linked here on SuperApp.
Simple login option of login through numeric mPIN have been provided. This will not only minimise efforts during login but will also secure sensitive data. For new user registration, minimum user data have been asked to make it easy and fast. For enquiry purposes, user can login as Guest through mobile number / OTP.
The SuperApp team of CRIS is closely monitoring all the feedbacks and suggestions provided during Beta test and suitable actions are being taken promptly. After observing the App in Beta test for few weeks, the Ministry will plan to launch it for mass usage.
