Raipur : Acharya Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj taught us that our culture is our identity. If we lose our culture, we lose our identity in the world. Acharya Ji has taught us to rise above sectarianism, linguistic divisions, and casteism, and has conveyed the message of humanity and global brotherhood to all of us. Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah made these remarks today while addressing the ground-breaking ceremony and tribute event for Acharya Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj’s memorial at the Chandragiri Tirth in Dongargarh. The event was presided over by Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai.
The Union Home Minister said that Jain Acharyas and Munis have played a vital role in uniting the entire country. From Hastinapur in Uttar Pradesh to Shravanbelgola in Karnataka, and from Rajgir in Bihar to Girnar in Gujarat, Jain saints and munis traveled on foot, spreading the light of knowledge and inspiring people to follow the righteous path through renunciation and penance. He said that Acharya Vidyasagar Ji lived a life like a Kalpavriksha (wish-fulfilling tree). His renunciation and sacrifice inspired every moment of the nation. He added that today, everyone gathered here has decided to construct a grand memorial for Acharya Ji, and they all deserve great appreciation for this initiative.
Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai said that although the revered Acharya Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj is no longer with us in his physical form, his teachings will continue to inspire us to walk the righteous path for generations. Acharya Ji walked miles for the protection of religion and the strength of the nation. His discipline in food and conduct is truly astonishing. Acharya Ji inspired millions through his life. He was a national saint with a deep attachment to his homeland. He always said that we should never abandon our cultural roots. The Chief Minister also paid his respects to Acharya Samta Sagar Ji Maharaj and all the Jain Munis who had come from across the country, expressing his wish for the blessings of saints to always be with Chhattisgarh.
