“CM Yogi Mourns J&K Bus Accident, Announces Compensation for Victims.”

Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday, expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in a bus accident in Jammu and Kashmir. 

Calling the incident unfortunate, CM Yogi directed state officials to stay in contact with officials in Jammu and Kashmir and to expedite relief efforts. CM Yogi announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each for the seriously injured. On his instructions, a police administration team from Mathura, Aligarh, and Hathras has been dispatched to Jammu to provide support.

He wrote on his social media account, X, “The loss of lives in an unfortunate bus accident in Jammu and Kashmir is extremely sad. My condolences to the bereaved people who lost their loved ones in this accident. Senior officials of Uttar Pradesh have been instructed to maintain constant contact with the officials of Jammu and Kashmir. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery to the injured.”

The accident occurred on the Jammu-Rajouri road in Akhnoor, where the bus fell into a gorge. As of late evening reports, 21 people have died, and 69 have been injured. The injured have been taken to Jammu Medical College for treatment. CM Yogi has instructed to accelerate the relief work to ensure timely assistance to the victims and their families.
