‘Advanced Podcar’ Will Be an Innovative Transport System – Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik

Mumbai : The “Advanced Podcar” transport service will play a crucial role in addressing the traffic congestion issues in Vadodara, Gujarat. This is set to become an innovative transport system, expressed Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik while reviewing the progress of the world’s first commercially developed suspended podcar system in Vadodara.

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, an automated podcar advanced system is being developed on a pilot basis in Vadodara’s Special Economic Zone. Minister Sarnaik visited the project to assess this advanced transport system and explore the possibility of implementing similar solutions in densely populated cities of Maharashtra.

Developed by Nutran EV Mobility, the advanced podcar system is based on the Futran technology and represents a next-generation urban transport system, where automated podcars are connected to an elevated track and function without obstructing road traffic. Each podcar can accommodate a minimum of 20 passengers and travels at a speed of 60 to 70 km per hour. They operate on an onboard electric motor and battery system, ensuring efficiency while utilizing minimal space in crowded urban areas.

Minister Sarnaik expressed a positive outlook on introducing the advanced podcar system in the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation area. He further stated that Mira-Bhayander could be the first city in the country to adopt this system as a pilot project.

During the visit, Bhavesh Buddhadev, co-founder of the company, thanked Minister Sarnaik, calling his visit a visionary step that highlights India’s evolving innovative technology in urban mobility.
