Nagapattinam Government Function: Inauguration and Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony by Hon’ble Chief Minister M.K. Stalin

Nagapattinam witnessed a significant government function today (03.03.2025), where Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M.K. Stalin, inaugurated 35 completed projects worth ₹92 lakh and laid the foundation stone for 206 new projects valued at ₹423.18 crore. The event was marked by the distribution of government welfare assistance to 38,956 beneficiaries.

Key highlights of the function included:

  • Infrastructure Development: Several road, bridge, and public infrastructure projects were inaugurated, including stormwater drainage systems, school buildings, public health centers, and fire rescue stations across Nagapattinam district.
  • Education & Healthcare: New school buildings, libraries, and primary health centers were established to enhance access to education and healthcare facilities.
  • Fisheries & Livelihood Support: Fisheries infrastructure modernization and welfare schemes for fishermen were launched, including subsidies and financial assistance.
  • Rural Development & Welfare Schemes: Various projects under rural development schemes were implemented, including housing for women, self-help group loans, and youth employment programs.
  • Disability & Social Welfare: Assistance was provided to persons with disabilities, including mobility aids, financial support, and marriage assistance for differently-abled individuals.

The function was attended by several ministers, MPs, MLAs, and government officials, who joined the Hon’ble Chief Minister in the inauguration and welfare distribution programs.
