Chief Minister Congratulates Innovations in Line with National Education Policy
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed his appreciation for the innovations being implemented by the School Education Department in adherence to the National Education Policy. He congratulated the department and emphasized that the entire government is committed to ensuring that every child in the state receives an education and progresses. He instructed the department to maintain this dedication and ensure that every child receives essential educational resources such as books, uniforms, scholarships, bicycles, and other necessary facilities on time.
School Education Minister Mr. Uday Pratap Singh informed Chief Minister Dr. Yadav that the MP State Open School Education Board (ISO 9001: 2015 Certified) has introduced 11 innovations for the benefit of students, which have received a positive response. He stated that the board aims to reach every child in the state who wishes to pursue education through open schooling.
Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh Scheme
Minister Singh highlighted that point 16.4 of the National Education Policy stresses integrating vocational education to ensure that every child learns skills related to at least one profession. In line with this, the Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh Scheme has been launched. Under the broader Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an ambitious pilot project has been initiated through the MP State Open School Education Board to enhance skill development.
Vocational training is being introduced in employment-oriented fields such as handloom, handicrafts, pottery, solar energy, apparel manufacturing, and bamboo art. Those who complete the training will not only gain employment but will also serve as resource persons for vocational courses starting from class 6.
Additionally, 100 aspiring youth from the state will be provided with residential training, and they will be linked to employment opportunities post-training. This initiative is being launched as a Human Capital Bank, where funds are being collected through public participation. A state-level center of excellence is also being established in a district for skill development, which will prepare master trainers for specific skills.
“Ruk Jana Nahi” Scheme
The MP State Open School Education Board, Bhopal, is an educational institution dedicated to the vision of “Education for All.” One of its major responsibilities is to prevent youth from taking extreme steps due to exam failures and to provide them with an opportunity to build a bright future.
With this goal, the “Ruk Jana Nahi” Scheme was launched in 2016 as a pilot project for students who failed the MP Board exams. Based on its success, the scheme was extended to CBSE students on demand. To date, more than 6,41,553 students have benefited from this scheme.
School Media Platform
In Madhya Pradesh, the School Media Platform ExtraChildhood.org is being operated, covering 53 Education for All (EFA) schools and over 50,000 government school students. This platform allows students to showcase their creativity and strengthen their skills through media and technology.
Through this initiative, schools have been provided with TV stations, radio stations, e-newspapers, and magazines, enabling students and teachers to connect with the world and improve their communication skills.
The board has introduced an Artificial Intelligence curriculum, allowing students to receive modern computer-based training in all subjects. Schools are also being encouraged to establish digital infrastructure, online learning platforms, and necessary equipment to facilitate digital education.
Furthermore, the Arun and Uday classes will be introduced in each district in selected schools as an alternative to LKG and UKG, with Sanskrit as the medium of instruction. The MP State Open School Education Board will implement these Sanskrit-based early education programs in 53 selected EFA schools.
To further strengthen Sanskrit education, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has launched a scholarship scheme providing up to ₹10,000 annually per student for residential Sanskrit schools following the Gurukul system. This initiative will support over 10,000 Sanskrit students in continuing their education.
Under this scheme, ITI graduates will have the opportunity to appear for higher secondary (class 12) exams by passing one language subject and a vocational skills & entrepreneurship exam, along with practical training.
Minister Shri Singh informed that “A Laut Chalein” Scheme provides dropout students with the opportunity to appear for exams free of cost and offers coaching assistance. School Makeover Program trains students in storytelling, art, interviews, and literary writing. He also informed regarding the Dedicated Websites for EFA Schools. All the 53 selected EFA schools now have its own website, helping to promote school activities and outreach.
These initiatives reflect the Madhya Pradesh government’s commitment to enhancing education, skill development, and vocational training, ensuring that every child progresses and contributes to the state’s growth.
