Centre Urged to Address Telangana Issues; BJP Slams Land Sales, Pollution, and Unrealistic Promises

Delhi : During the difficult times of COVID, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was deeply moved by the sacrifice of sanitation workers. He washed their feet and honoured them in recognition of their service.

We have also seen similar gestures of respect shown to sanitation workers in the health department. However, during that time, many workers lost their lives. We had requested the government to resolve their issues.

Similarly, we have the MMTS railway station located near our area. The Suchitra station is adjacent to military land. Due to access being restricted, the station has become deserted. Hence, we requested for a road to be laid in that area. We also discussed other defence-related issues with Rajnath Singh.

Regarding the lack of RUBs and ROBs (Railway Underpasses and Overbridges), lakhs of people are facing severe hardships, waiting for hours. We had an in-depth discussion with the Railway Minister, who assured us that the issue would be resolved.

In the entire Adilabad Parliamentary constituency, not a single stop has been allotted for the Vande Bharat train. We have requested that the Vande Bharat train be made to stop in our area as well.

The Charlapally railway terminal has been inaugurated under the Railway Ministry. We requested that various trains be allowed to stop at different stations, and they agreed to find solutions.

In the Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency, all the lakes once had clean water, but now they have become heavily polluted. As the State Government lacks funds, we requested ₹133 crores from the Jal Shakti Mission for drainage, drinking water systems, and to divert drainage water from entering the lakes. We urged the Jal Shakti Minister to ensure full utilization of this amount.

Today, we met with the Urban Development Minister and requested funds under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Since Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency is like a “Mini India” with people from all states and districts, we sought funds for basic amenities in slum areas. The minister assured us of support.

We also requested the central government to provide additional funds for roads under CRF across Telangana to improve road infrastructure for the people.

Out of the 17 parliamentary seats in Telangana, the BJP won 8 seats, securing 36% of the vote share. Therefore, to address the problems of the people of Telangana, MPs, including two Union Ministers and MLAs, are consistently making efforts.

Regarding the Hyderabad Central University land, if anyone tries to sell it recklessly like a real estate broker, we won’t tolerate it. Today, we met Bhupender Yadav and expressed concern about environmental damage. When we questioned how permission could be granted in an area rich with medicinal plants, he immediately issued a letter halting the process. This government has taken steps to protect that land. We even made arguments in the Supreme Court today, saying the government shouldn’t behave like a real estate broker.

Revanth Reddy has been making a lot of promises. When asked how he would fulfil them, he said, “We will do everything.” But today, he’s been exposed. Even before any criticism of the budget speech, everyone understood the dire financial state of the state. We only request Revanth Reddy — you may be new, but your party isn’t. Think before making such promises. Don’t recklessly sell not just government lands, but even university lands, and destroy children’s education — we strongly oppose this.

Q: Why is there so much controversy now, when lands have been sold for development since united Andhra Pradesh days?

Even when Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy proposed in united Andhra Pradesh to sell lands and estimated ₹12,000 crores revenue in the budget, we opposed it in the Assembly as activists of the Telangana movement.

Q: They say the lands are being sold for public welfare and development. What do you say?

What development will you do?

All lakes are polluted,
All park lands have been encroached,
There’s no space left to walk or play.
If you use government lands to build big factories and institutions that generate employment, that’s commendable — but you’re selling such lands for real estate business?

Q: They say false propaganda is being spread about the presence of deer and wild animals. Your response?

We’re not just making claims — ask them to go and see for themselves.
They’ll see trees, birds, and deer — the truth will be clear.
