Chhattisgarh Progressing Towards Prosperity Through Cooperation

Thanks to the state government’s policy decisions and support from the central government, Chhattisgarh is steadily moving towards “prosperity through cooperation.” According to Cooperative Department Commissioner Shri Kuldeep Sharma, the Raipur bank’s financial performance led the sector in the state.

The bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Apeksha Vyas, credited this year’s strong profits to the strategic guidance of the bank’s authorized officer, Shri Kuldeep Sharma. She emphasized that serving the interests of stakeholders, farmers, and customers is the bank’s top priority, which has resulted in increasing trust among depositors and farmers.

The bank operates through 550 affiliated cooperative societies, offering not only short-term agricultural loans but also medium- and long-term loans for tractors, harvesters, threshers, and fencing equipment. In the financial year 2025–26, the bank disbursed interest-free agricultural loans amounting to ₹1,886 crore to 3.93 lakh farmers.

Mrs. Vyas stated that the bank’s financial position is strong, with deposits totaling ₹6,833 crore and a working capital of ₹8,316 crore. To improve customer service and provide faster banking solutions, the bank now offers modern banking facilities such as NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, mobile banking, and UPI.

During the Kharif season of 2024–25, farmers affiliated with 550 PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies) withdrew ₹57 crore through micro-ATMs during the paddy procurement process.
