Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai Reviews Preparations for ‘Mahabaleshwar Mega Tourism Festival 2025’
Satara : For the first time, the ‘Mahabaleshwar Mega Tourism Festival 2025’ will be celebrated on a grand scale in Mahabaleshwar, Satara district. The festival is being organized jointly by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and the Satara District Administration under the Maharashtra State Tourism Department. The event will be held from May 2 to May 4, 2025. Guardian Minister and Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai reviewed the festival preparations at the District Collector’s office.
This is the first time such a large-scale tourism festival is being held in the district. A wide range of attractions and activities are being planned for tourists, including a laser show, music festival, adventure activities, food fest, joy rides, games for children, carnival parade, celebrations of Maharashtra’s rich heritage, fort exhibitions, arms displays, traditional martial arts, tent city, drone show, yoga sessions, instrumental music, cultural programs, and boat exhibitions. These and other aspects of the event were discussed in detail during the review meeting.
Minister Desai instructed that the electricity department must ensure uninterrupted power supply throughout the festival. The municipal administration should take all necessary measures for maintaining cleanliness. Fire safety systems must be deployed at the venues, and arrangements for adequate water supply should be ensured. The health department should provide ambulances on-site. The police must deploy sufficient personnel for crowd management and smooth traffic flow.
As a large number of tourists are expected to attend the festival, Desai emphasized that all ongoing roadwork, including on the Surur-Wai route and other key roads, should be completed promptly. Ongoing development works within Mahabaleshwar Municipal limits and potential disruptions due to unseasonal rains were also discussed during the meeting.
