CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Leads Ambedkar Jayanti Celebrations, Announces Major Welfare Schemes

134th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: Baba Saheb Showed the Path Not Just to India, But to the World — State Government Committed to Empowerment of All Sections of Society: CM Bhajan Lal Sharma

Jaipur – Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma stated that Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was a guiding light not just for India but for the entire world. The dream envisioned by Baba Saheb to uplift the most marginalized sections of society is being fulfilled with commitment under the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that the government has undertaken long-term initiatives for the empowerment of the four key sections — youth, women, farmers, and workers — ensuring inclusive development across all regions of the state.

Shri Sharma was addressing the celebration of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary at the Rajasthan International Centre on Monday. He highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s invaluable contribution to the drafting of the Indian Constitution, stating that by giving the world’s largest constitution, he made India the largest democracy. Dr. Ambedkar paved the way for a discrimination-free society for the oppressed, exploited, deprived, and neglected. He also emphasized education for all sections, women’s empowerment, and labor reforms. Globally, he is recognized for his legal acumen and social philosophy, earning the title “Symbol of Knowledge.”

Baba Saheb Ambedkar Sambal Yojana Launched for SC-Dominated Villages

The Chief Minister announced the launch of the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Sambal Yojana in villages with more than 50% Scheduled Caste population. Through this scheme, infrastructural and developmental work in these villages will be ensured. A budget of ₹250 crore has been allocated for this purpose.

PM Modi Spread Baba Saheb’s Ideals

CM Sharma praised PM Narendra Modi for introducing several key initiatives to familiarize the younger generation with the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar. These include developing five key places from his life as ‘Panch Teerth’ — Janmabhoomi (Mhow), Deekshabhoomi (Nagpur), Mahaparinirvan Bhoomi (Delhi), Chaityabhoomi (Mumbai), and Shiksha Bhoomi (London). He also initiated the observance of Constitution Day on November 26. Sharma noted that Dr. Ambedkar was a strong advocate for women’s advancement, and respecting his vision, the PM ensured constitutional amendment to provide 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. Sharma added that Dr. Ambedkar did not receive due respect during his lifetime.

Unprecedented Social Security Measures by the State Government

Shri Sharma emphasized that the government is working inspired by Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals to build an empowered society. Under the Social Security Pension Scheme, 7.25 lakh new beneficiaries have been added in just over a year, and more than 91 lakh people in Rajasthan now receive pensions. The pension amount has also been increased from ₹1,000 to ₹1,250 per month. Under the Palanhar Scheme, financial aid of up to ₹2,500 is given monthly to support orphaned and needy children. Additionally, ₹60 crore is being spent for the welfare of denotified, nomadic, and semi-nomadic tribes through the Dadudayal Nomadic Empowerment Scheme.

Free Treatment for Rare Diseases Under Ayushman Bal Sambal Yojana

Shri Sharma transferred funds via DBT under the Chief Minister Ayushman Bal Sambal Yojana for children suffering from rare diseases. This scheme provides free treatment of up to ₹50 lakh for 56 rare diseases for children up to 18 years of age. He also inaugurated the Ambedkar Institute of Constitutional Studies and Research under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur, to inspire future generations with Ambedkar’s ideals. Additionally, de-addiction centers were launched.

Panch Teerth Tour Scheme Launched

The Chief Minister launched a scheme to facilitate visits for Scheduled Castes to the five sacred places (Panch Teerth) associated with Dr. Ambedkar’s life. He flagged off a bus under this initiative. He also distributed safety kits to sanitation workers, provided land allotment letters to SC/ST entrepreneurs for industrial plots, and presented electric wheelchairs to patients suffering from muscular dystrophy.

In the ceremony, the CM paid his respects to the statue of Dr. Ambedkar and a copy of the Constitution. Outstanding students in the field of education were felicitated. Shri Kuldeep Panwar of Pali received the Ambedkar Social Service Award and Dr. Anupama Soni was conferred the Ambedkar Women Welfare Award.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa said that PM Modi has taken significant steps to spread Dr. Ambedkar’s message, and under CM Sharma’s leadership, the state government continues to work for the welfare of SC/ST communities. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Shri Avinash Gehlot stated that all promises made for the upliftment of the marginalized are being fulfilled with full commitment toward social security.

The event was also attended by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel, Chief Whip Shri Jogeshwar Garg, SC Finance & Development Commission Chairman Shri Rajendra Nayak, Jaipur MP Smt. Manju Sharma, District Head Smt. Rama Chopra, MLAs Shri Gordhan Lal, Shri Ramsahay Verma, Shri Lalaram Bairwa, other public representatives, officials, and a large number of citizens.
