Fiji revers India as most favourable nations for procuring medicines, medical equipment’s.
Fiji is poised to procure medicines and medical equipment’s from India, as the Fiji Government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Government today.
Representing the Fiji Government, the Assistant Minister for Health Penioni Ravunawa, have signed the accord with the Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita. Mr. Penioni Ravunawa has attributed the MOU to be milestone achievement for the government and the people of Fiji because through the MOU, Fiji can buy directly from manufacturers in India.
He said since their independence, Fiji has been buying or procuring medication mainly from the United States and United Kingdom. The Assistant Minister reiterated that it has taken quite a while and they have visited India for some time now and they have seen the advancement within India in the field of clinical sciences.
