Uttar Pradesh’s first Footwear Park to be established in Kanpur

Lucknow/Kanpur : Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) is steadily advancing efforts to strengthen the state’s industrial infrastructure. As part of this mission, Uttar Pradesh’s first dedicated Footwear Park is being developed on 131.69 acres in the Ramaipur area of Kanpur.

This landmark project presents a significant opportunity for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The park is envisioned as a hub for manufacturing a wide range of products, including uniform, sports, casual, moccasins, ballerinas, sandals, PVC footwear, and finished leather goods.

Industrial plots with modern infrastructure

▪️75 industrial plots in total 83 acres
▪️2 warehouse plots in 5.46 acres
▪️5 km long road network
▪️10 km RCC-based storm water drainage
▪️5 tonnes per day solid waste management capacity, cost ₹2 crore
▪️10 MLD water demand, met from an underground source
▪️220 kv substation, 40 MW electrical load

UPSIDA is actively promoting the ‘plug-and-play’ industrial model at the park, ensuring that essential infrastructure such as electricity, water, sewerage, and ready-to-use factory sheds are in place. This model allows entrepreneurs to begin operations with minimal cost and reduced setup time.

The park will also feature a state-of-the-art Common Facility Center (CFC), offering shared amenities such as laboratories, design studios, packaging units, and training centers. These facilities are expected to enhance production efficiency, improve product quality, and boost the global competitiveness of local industries.

Attractive payment plan provides relief to investors

▪️5% payment of the total land value at the time of application
▪️20% amount to be paid within 60 days of allotment
▪️Possession of the plot to be provided on payment of 25% of the total
▪️Remaining 75% amount to be paid in 6 half-yearly installments
▪️Land rate ₹4600 per square meter
▪️2% discount on full payment within 60 days

The entire application process has been entirely digital through the Nivesh Mitra Portal, ensuring greater transparency and ease for investors.

UPSIDA Chief Executive Officer Mayur Maheshwari stated, “The proposed Footwear Park in Kanpur will strengthen local industries and create employment opportunities for thousands of youth. Under the MSME Policy 2022, incentives will empower entrepreneurs to become self-reliant and play a vital role in advancing Uttar Pradesh towards its goal of becoming a trillion-dollar economy.”
