Mumbai – Maharashtra has achieved a remarkable feat by securing first place for the third consecutive year in the Khelo India Youth Games. Sports Minister Dattatray Bharne extended his congratulations to the victorious athletes who made this historic achievement possible.
In the 7th edition of the Khelo India Youth Games held in Bihar from May 4 to 15, Maharashtra emerged as the top-performing state with a total of 158 medals—comprising 58 gold, 47 silver, and 53 bronze. Athletes from 26 sports disciplines, including archery, mallakhamb, swimming, wrestling, kabaddi, boxing, weightlifting, and athletics, contributed to this outstanding success. Minister Bharne commended the athletes for their exceptional performances.
“This achievement is the result of the athletes’ hard work, the guidance of coaches, the support of sports organizations, and the encouragement from parents. As the State Sports Minister, I extend my best wishes to all the players, coaches, and parents,” he stated in his message.
