Food Commission chairman reviewed departmental schemes.
Raipur : Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Food Commission, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Babra held a review meeting of the functioning of the Food Department in the Food Commission office yesterday. He said that regular distribution of ration should be ensured every month to all the eligible beneficiaries of the state. Under Universal PDS, he instructed the officials to improve the system of distribution of ration to ration card holders in the shops of their choice through e-pass.
Mr. Babra said that adequate arrangements have been made through information technology to increase transparency and public participation in the distribution of ration material of the public distribution system. He also directed to widely publicize the toll-free number and call center telephone number for complaints related to PDS. The telephone number of the department’s call center is 1800-233-3663 and toll-free number is 1967. In the review meeting, he reviewed the schemes prevalent in various departments related to food grain distribution, including fortified rice distribution, One Nation One Ration Card Scheme, implementation of National Food Security and Chhattisgarh Food and Nutrition Security Act, arrangement for advance ration storage in inaccessible fair price shops, operation of fair price shops of gram panchayats.
On this occasion, Mr. Rajendra Mahilang, Mr. Kuldeep Sharma, Mrs. Jyoti Kashyap, Member and School Education Department, Additional Director, D.S. Mr. Abhishek Kumar Jaiswal, Tribal Welfare Department, Mr. Rajiv Kumar Jaiswal, Additional Director of Food Department and officials of the concerned department were present.
