In a visit to the BSF camp in Basing village of Orchha block, the CM personally commended the troops involved in the 21 May anti-Naxal operation, where 27 Maoists, including hardcore leader Baswa Raju, were neutralized in the border regions of Narayanpur, Dantewada, and Bijapur districts.

Addressing the troops, CM Sai described the operation as the biggest and most successful strike against Maoists to date, praising the bravery, valor, and tactical excellence of the BSF, DRG, and district forces. He performed a ceremonial tilak on the soldiers’ foreheads, symbolically honoring them, and flagged off a motorcycle patrol unit of 50 bikes from the camp.

CM Sai expressed confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s goal of eradicating Naxalism by March 2026 is within reach. He envisioned a future where even the remotest parts of Bastar would be integrated into the development narrative of Chhattisgarh through improved access to education, healthcare, welfare schemes, and infrastructure.
He highlighted positive developments from government schemes such as Niyad Nellanar and PM Janman, which are showing visible impact in Maoist-affected areas. “The end of Maoism will bring a new dawn of development in Bastar,” he said.
The Chief Minister also distributed LED sets and gift hampers to the jawans as tokens of appreciation. Troops briefed him and the Deputy CM on the operation’s preparations and strategy.
