Purnima from Dantewada Becomes a Beacon of Inspiration, Creates Study Corner at Home to Motivate Other Teens
Raipur : Purnima Nagvanshi, a teenager from Bedipara village in Kuakonda block of Dantewada district, has emerged as a role model for youth by taking a simple yet impactful initiative. After participating in a recent workshop, she created a dedicated “study corner” at her home, marking a new beginning in her educational journey.
The workshop, jointly organized by the district administration, UNICEF, and Sarvhitam, brought together Mitanin health workers, rural women, parents, and adolescents. Training sessions were conducted on various themes like “Look Beyond Appearance,” “What Did I Learn Today,” and “My Study Corner” to promote self-awareness and education among youth.
Purnima, who was one of the participants, took the lessons seriously. After returning home, she used one of her mother’s old sarees to create a calm, designated study space. She decorated it with her books, pinned a daily study routine on the wall, and committed herself to studying regularly in that corner.
Speaking about her experience, Purnima said, “I now find much more interest in studying. My parents have also started encouraging me.” Inspired by her own progress, she has begun motivating other teenagers in her village to create similar study spaces. Her goal is to help every child develop a disciplined and focused study habit by having a dedicated area for learning.
Purnima’s initiative is not just a step towards personal growth, but also serves as an inspiration for other adolescents in the community. Her actions reflect the broader impact such programs can have when adopted sincerely.
It is worth noting that programs like “Look Beyond Appearance,” “What Did I Learn Today,” and “My Study Corner” are currently being implemented across 100 selected villages in Dantewada district with the aim of promoting holistic development among adolescents.
