Foundation Laid and Inauguration Held for Power Infrastructure Projects Worth ₹45 Crore in Nashik

Nashik – Farmers and citizens in the Niphad taluka of Nashik will soon benefit from an enhanced and stable electricity supply through various development projects initiated by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL). Minister of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection, Chhagan Bhujbal, emphasized that electricity and water are crucial for agriculture, and with the onset of monsoon and the beginning of the Kharif season, transformers inaugurated today will ensure uninterrupted power to the region.

The minister laid the foundation and inaugurated multiple power development projects in Devgaon, Kanlad, Maralgoi, Khadak Malegaon, and Vinchur, as part of a ₹45 crore investment in strengthening the local power infrastructure. Senior officials from MSEDCL and local residents attended the events.

Minister Bhujbal stated that additional transformers and upgraded infrastructure under various government schemes have already benefited thousands of farmers. He stressed the importance of prompt transformer repairs and timely completion of power projects to prevent outages. A ₹600 crore ultra-high-voltage 430 kV substation is also planned at Sarole Kh. to address long-term power issues across nearby villages.

The government is also working towards daytime electricity supply for agriculture, aiming to reduce dependence on night-time irrigation. Solar and wind energy initiatives are being implemented to ensure affordable and sustainable power generation, Bhujbal added.

Key projects initiated/inaugurated:

  • Devgaon: Upgrade of substation transformer to 10 MVA (₹178.04 lakh)
  • Kanlad: Upgrade of substation transformer to 10 MVA (₹142.57 lakh)
