Guru leads us From the Ignorance to Knowledge, guides to follow right path: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Guru leads us from the darkness to light and ignorance to knowledge. In Sanatana Indian culture tradition, the status of Guru is likened to God. Gurus show us the path to enlightenment and guide to follow the right path. On this sacred occasion, disciples worship Gurus and seek their blessings.

The occasion of Guru Purnima being celebrated on 10 July across Madhya Pradesh, is a day to honour the legacy of the Guru-Shisya Parampara. CM Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has a number of educators who have shaped the lives of students enabling them to make a mark in society through their remarkable contributions.

‘Kitabon Wali Didi’: Taking Education Door-to-Door

In an innovative initiative , Ms. Usha Dubey, a secondary school teacher at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Baidhan, Singrauli, modified her scooter into a “mobile library” and reached out to children in various neighborhoods and villages with books. Affectionately called ‘Kitaabon Wali Didi’ by the children, Ms. Dubey earned their love and respect. Her initiative was appreciated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in his popular radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

Sharing her experience, Ms. Dubey said, “When school children brought fresh lotus flowers from home, I saw their emotion and wanted to win their trust. I took my teaching beyond the classroom and created a mobile library. Seeing the children happy encouraged me to continue this initiative”. She added, “I traveled from village to village to build reading habits among children. It was a proud moment when the Prime Minister referred to my work in Mann Ki Baat”.

Later, Ms. Dubey also started “Soap Bank” to promote cleanliness awareness in villages. Children associated with her library began donating soap on their birthdays. She observed that education, combined with values, could also make a big change. She said, “The children’s enthusiasm continues to inspire me”.

Innovative Methods by Sehore Teacher

Shri Santosh Kumar Dhanware, a secondary school teacher from Bhairunda tehsil (Nasrullaganj), Sehore district, has conducted successful educational experiments with numerous children in his region. He said he constantly strives, as a teacher, to shape students’ lives and secure their future. He developed materials like “Dream Diaries,” teaching-learning tools, flashcards and portfolios to aid children’s learning.

Shri Dhanware engaged closely not only with students but also with their parents. His innovative teaching techniques were featured in a magazine published by Tata Trust’s Parag initiative. At his own expense, he beautified the school with drawings, paintings, and artwork, transforming its atmosphere.

As a result of his efforts, Rs. 5 lakh was sanctioned for the development of the school where he was posted. Many of his students are now achieving success in various fields of life. He believes that children are always ready to learn. A good teacher can mold them into a successful and responsible individuals.
