Thanks to Minister Lakshmi Rajwade’s Efforts, Surajpur Gets the Gift of New Roads

State Approves ₹14.28 Crore for Construction of Three Key Road Projects

Raipur : Surajpur district has received a significant infrastructure boost thanks to the special efforts of Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade. The Chhattisgarh state government has granted administrative approval for three important road construction projects in the district, with a total sanctioned budget of ₹14.28 crore. These projects will cover approximately 9.80 kilometers of new roads.

The approval was issued following consent from the Finance Department. The objective behind these roadworks is to improve connectivity in the district and accelerate development in rural areas.

The approved projects include:

  • Road construction from Birpur Atal Chowk to the Karampur and Kasalgiri borders (length: 3.40 km) with a budget of ₹4.43 crore,
  • Road from Kasalgiri to Shivsagarpur (length: 1.40 km) with ₹2.19 crore sanctioned,
  • Road development from Pratappur-Bhaiyathan main road (State Highway No. 12) to Parsapara via Jhilmili (length: 5.00 km) with an allocation of ₹7.66 crore.

Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for prioritizing rural connectivity and basic infrastructure. She emphasized that the current government is committed to rural development and considers road infrastructure a top priority.

“These roads in Surajpur will not only improve transportation and access but will also provide a boost to social, educational, and economic activities in the region,” the minister stated. She added that the projects will directly benefit several villages in the Surajpur district and will serve as a milestone in the region’s development journey.
