Chief Minister’s Medical Aid Cell: A Lifeline for the Poor and Needy Patients

The Chief Minister’s Medical Aid Cell has become a beacon of hope for underprivileged patients across Maharashtra, including the Amravati division, by providing timely financial support for critical and life-threatening illnesses. Between January 1 and June 30, 2025, the cell disbursed a total assistance of ₹6.82 crore to 763 deserving patients from the five districts under the Amravati division, saving countless lives.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, this initiative plays a crucial role in offering direct financial aid for costly and complex surgeries to economically weak and ailing citizens. In the past, patients had to travel to Mumbai and face difficulties while applying for assistance. To resolve this issue, CM Fadnavis initiated the setup of Medical Aid Cells in every district collector’s office across the state. Each cell is staffed with a nodal medical officer to guide applicants and ensure no eligible patient is left without help.

District-level CM Medical Aid Cells in Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldhana, and Washim have actively provided funds for critical treatments, ensuring quality healthcare reaches those most in need.

District-Wise Financial Assistance (Jan–June 2025):

  • Amravati: ₹1.69 crore for 173 patients
  • Akola: ₹30.30 lakh for 40 patients
