Japanese Delegation Aims to Strengthen People-to-People Connect, Education, Research, Tourism, and Cultural Relations with Gujarat
Gandhinagar : An 18-member delegation from Japan’s Shizuoka Prefecture paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar. The delegation led by Mr. Atsuyuki Rachi, a Member of the Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly and Secretary General of the India-Japan Friendship Parliamentary League, is on their visit to Gujarat. During this courtesy meeting with Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Mr. Atsuyuki Rachi conveyed an interest in building a long-term cordial relationship with Gujarat, emphasizing people-to-people connections, education and research, tourism, culture, and commercial ties. He stated that the Shizuoka Prefecture ranks fourth in Japan for Make in Japan industries, with automobile companies such as Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, and Toyota playing a vital role.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel welcomed the delegation, stating that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India-Japan relations have developed into a strong friendship. CM conveyed that Gujarat will continue to enhance these bilateral ties. The Chief Minister added that, like the credibility of ‘Made in Japan,’ the ‘Make in India’ initiative, guided by the Zero Defect – Zero Effect mantra, is dedicated to producing environmentally friendly, world-class products. Committed to fostering a supportive environment for Japanese industries in Gujarat, the Chief Minister stated that the government’s proactive approach ensures these industries face no challenges, enabling steady progress in Indo-Japan bilateral relations. Chief Minister also thanked Japan for its cooperation and contributions as a partner country in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. The head of the delegation, Mr. Atsuyuki Rachi, extended a warm invitation to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel to visit Japan and his region, Shizuoka Prefecture. He also noted that the Governor of Shizuoka Prefecture is looking forward to visiting India and Gujarat in the coming months. Mr. Atsuyuki was keen to sign an MOU in trade and industry to strengthen the Gujarat-Shizuoka relationship.

Chief Minister presented a memento of Kutchi handicrafts to Shri Atsuyuki Rachi, the head of the delegation.
