Determination to Make Gadchiroli District Naxal-Free – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Mumbai : Twelve Maoists were killed in an operation by the Gadchiroli police in Vandoli village near the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border, with automatic weapons recovered from the site. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has specially congratulated the Gadchiroli Police for this successful operation.
Around ten o’clock this morning, the 7C 60 Squad, led by the Sub Divisional Police Officer (Operations), initiated a special operation based on information that 12-15 Naxalites were camping near Wandoli village. The operation involved over six hours of continuous firing, resulting in the elimination of 12 Maoists. The police seized seven automatic weapons, including three AK-47s, two INSAS rifles, one carbine, and one SLR.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde personally congratulated the Superintendent of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Gadchiroli Zone), Inspector General of Police (Anti-Naxal Campaign), and other senior officers for the successful operation. He praised the bravery of all participating jawans and wished them well.

“This action is a decisive blow to the Naxalite movements in Gadchiroli district, and our policy is to prioritize development and strongly oppose violence,” stated Chief Minister Shinde. He affirmed the determination to make Gadchiroli district completely Naxal-free.
He added that this exemplary performance by the police force would strengthen the security system in the area and increase the sense of safety among citizens.
