Meeting on Deregulation and Compliance Burden in Mizoram

Aizawl, Aug 25: Shri K.K. Pathak, Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat and Task Force Member on Deregulation, led a review meeting with Mizoram state officials at the Secretariat Conference Hall, MINECO. Chaired by Chief Secretary Shri Khilli Ram Meena, the meeting focused on the state’s progress in deregulation and reducing the compliance burden.

Dr. Lalzirmawia Chhangte, Commissioner & Secretary, Commerce & Industries, presented an overview of Mizoram’s current status. The discussion that followed centered on how various departments can eliminate unnecessary regulations to improve the ease of doing business. The participants acknowledged that the current lengthy clearance and permit processes hinder new business startups.

In his concluding remarks, Shri Pathak urged officials to prioritize the reduction of regulations to promote ease of doing business and ease of living for citizens, investors, and entrepreneurs. He reiterated that this initiative’s primary goal is to simplify life for the public and the business community.
