Ensure Effective Implementation of Health Programs to Achieve 100% Targets – Principal Secretary, Medical & Health

Jaipur, Aug 2025 — Under the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma and the guidance of Medical Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar, health services in the state are being continuously strengthened. In this context, Principal Secretary, Medical & Health Department, Smt. Gayatri Rathore, on Wednesday conducted a detailed review of various health programs being implemented under the National Health Mission (NHM) at the Health Bhawan auditorium and issued necessary directives.

She emphasized that ensuring easy access to health services for the public is the state government’s top priority. Keeping this in mind, officials must implement all health programs effectively to achieve 100% of the set targets, and strict action will be taken in case of any negligence.

Smt. Rathore highlighted that the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission is being implemented to strengthen the health infrastructure, with new medical institutions and laboratories being constructed across the state. She instructed that land allocation for new buildings under the mission be completed quickly. For institutions where land is yet to be allocated, coordination should be established through the District Collector to expedite the process, and construction quality must be strictly maintained. Complaints will invite stringent action against those responsible.

She also directed effective monitoring of ambulance services in the state to ensure necessary improvements. Each ambulance should have a designated location, and regular inspections should be conducted to check their condition. In remote areas lacking easy access to medical facilities, Mobile Medical Units should be deployed to provide diagnostic and treatment services, with route charts planned at the district level for smooth operation. District and block-level officers must effectively monitor the 108 Ambulance, Janani Express, and Mamta Express services, using information technology for better oversight.

The Principal Secretary stressed the need for adequate human resources for the smooth functioning of medical institutions. She noted that a large number of recruitments have recently been made in the department, improving the availability of healthcare workers even in remote regions. Vacant posts under NHM should be filled promptly by speeding up the recruitment process, and available human resources should be utilized judiciously. Healthcare workers must be present on time and their work performance should be regularly evaluated.

Smt. Rathore also reviewed the Maternal & Child Health Program, Anemia-Free Rajasthan Program, JSY payments, and the MA Voucher Scheme. She directed that anemia screening and treatment services be further strengthened in backward and tribal areas, ensuring that all deliveries take place in health institutions. During inspections, unnecessary referrals from any medical institution should be identified and strict action taken. She instructed that pending payments under the Janani Suraksha Yojana be cleared quickly through a dedicated campaign to achieve zero pendency, and the MA Voucher Scheme be implemented with full seriousness.

NHM Mission Director Dr. Amit Yadav provided detailed information on the progress of various health programs under the mission, stating that effective steps are being taken to meet the set targets.

The meeting was attended by Additional Mission Director NHM Dr. T. Shubhamangala, RCH Director Dr. Madhu Rateshwar, and OSD NHM Shri Santosh Goyal, along with other concerned officials.
