Japan Science and Technology Agency is conducting the Sakura Science High School Program
Lucknow : Two students from Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School in Uttar Pradesh have been selected to participate in Japan’s prestigious Sakura Science High School Program. The girls, Kumari Sandhya Saroj from Prayagraj and Kumari Riya Patel from Pratapgarh will travel to Japan under the guidance of experienced science teachers.
This program, organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, will allow them to engage with educational innovations and collaborate with peers and experts worldwide. Their participation is scheduled for November 10-16, 2024.
The Sakura Science High School Program is designed for top-performing science students in 11th and 12th grades who excelled in their 10th-grade exams and demonstrate proficiency in English. The selection of these two girls highlights the success of the quality education initiatives under the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh.
Japan will cover all expenses related to the program, including travel, accommodation, and food, through the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Additionally, the government of Japan will provide the necessary visas for the students to stay during the program.
Participants in the Sakura Science High School Program have the unique opportunity to meet Nobel Prize winners, enhancing their knowledge through special lectures by leading scientists and visiting top Japanese universities and research institutions. Additionally, they experience Japanese culture through social activities with local high school students.
The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) created the Sakura Science High School Program to foster educational innovation exchanges between Japanese youth and their peers from other countries. Known as the Sakura Science Program, it invites exceptional high school students for a week-long experience to broaden their educational horizons.
