Grand Welcome at Airport, Traditional Karma and Panthi Dances Enthral Crowd
Raipur, Aug 2025 : After completing his eight-day foreign tour of Japan and South Korea, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai returned to Raipur today. On his arrival, he received a grand welcome at the airport. The entire airport premises reverberated with traditional Karma and Panthi dances for nearly an hour, creating a festive atmosphere. The large crowd gathered reflected both the popularity of the Chief Minister and the success of his international visit. From floral bouquets to garlands, people greeted him warmly, while a shower of flower petals accompanied his passage from the exit gate to the media gallery — a distance of about 100 meters that took nearly 15 minutes due to the overwhelming reception.
Addressing the crowd, the Chief Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome. He said that in both Japan and South Korea, there is a significant Indian community, including many from Chhattisgarh engaged in trade and business. Meeting them was a deeply emotional experience and gave a sense of home even while abroad. He highlighted that Chhattisgarh’s entrepreneurs and businesspersons are contributing to India’s reputation across the globe.
Foreign Investment and Development Opportunities
Speaking to the media, Shri Sai said his tour was highly successful, opening new doors for foreign investment and industrial growth in Chhattisgarh. He shared that during Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Japan, it was agreed that Japan will invest ₹6 lakh crore in India and prepare a 10-year economic roadmap. A substantial share of this investment will flow into Chhattisgarh. Agreements signed between India and Japan will create opportunities in Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and defense sectors, generating significant employment for the state’s youth.
The Chief Minister further informed that both Japan and South Korea agreed to large-scale investments in AI, semiconductors, textiles, and food processing. Several industrial institutions also submitted proposals to invest directly in Chhattisgarh, promising large-scale job creation.
Strong Engagement with Business Organizations
During the tour, Shri Sai held extensive discussions with representatives of trade and business organizations in both countries. They responded positively towards expanding trade and investment ties. The Chief Minister presented Chhattisgarh’s new industrial policy and highlighted its grant provisions and supportive infrastructure, especially for AI and semiconductor industries. He informed them that India’s first Data Centre Park is located in Chhattisgarh and that the state is rapidly becoming a hub for semiconductor investment, with special financial incentives in place.
Showcasing Chhattisgarh at Osaka World Expo
Shri Sai proudly stated that at the World Expo held in Osaka, Japan, Chhattisgarh had its own pavilion, which attracted over 30,000 visitors daily. The state showcased its industrial potential, investment opportunities, and cultural heritage. He highlighted with pride that Chhattisgarh was the only Indian state to present all information in the Japanese language, ensuring effective communication with Japanese investors.
First-Ever Delegation Visit to South Korea
The Chief Minister expressed joy that for the first time, a delegation from Chhattisgarh visited South Korea. Information about the state was shared in the Korean language, which helped build strong connections with potential investors. He announced that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with ICCK (Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea), which will act as Chhattisgarh’s knowledge partner. This collaboration will help provide skilled manpower for industries coming up under the state’s new industrial policy.
Global Vision for Chhattisgarh
Concluding his remarks, Shri Sai said that the tour of Japan and South Korea has proven that Chhattisgarh will not confine itself to being just a major investment destination within India but will reach out globally. He emphasized that the state will secure international markets for its products and attract global investments, ensuring long-term prosperity and growth for the people of Chhattisgarh.
