In Bharatpur, In-Charge Secretary Inspects Waterlogged Areas, Urges Team Spirit for Successful “City Walk” and “Village Walk” Campaigns
Jaipur, Sept 2025 : To assess the situation after heavy rainfall, In-Charge District Secretary Mrs. Suchi Tyagi visited waterlogged fields and affected villages in Bharatpur on Friday. During her one-day visit, she not only inspected submerged crops with a team of officials but also interacted directly with affected villagers, assuring them of all possible government assistance. She instructed that relief operations be planned and executed with complete sensitivity.
Mrs. Tyagi began her inspection in areas surrounding Bharatpur Block, BDA, Municipal Corporation, and Shyaurana village, evaluating crop losses and listening to the problems of the locals. She assured villagers that the state government stands with them in this difficult time and that aid will reach every needy individual.
She reviewed the water levels in Ramnagar Domora Canal, Ajan Dam, and Gambhir River with the Chief Engineer of the Water Resources Department and examined progress on budget allocations. She directed Bharatpur Development Authority (BDA) Commissioner Kanisk Kataria to ensure permanent drainage arrangements under Authority Scheme No. 13. She emphasized that water drainage and relief work in both urban and rural areas must be carried out with vigilance and sensitivity. She also stressed that accurate assessment of crop damage and transparent compensation to farmers through the e-Girdawari process is critical, and no negligence will be tolerated.
Mrs. Tyagi instructed that the “City Walk” campaign be conducted from 15 September to 2 October, and the “Village Walk” campaign be held in two Gram Panchayats of each Panchayat Samiti from 18 September, running three days a week. She directed wide publicity to maximize public participation. Additionally, a Cooperative Membership campaign will be conducted from 2 October to 15 October.
She also called for assessment of livestock losses in flood-affected areas and provision of vaccination and veterinary services to prevent diseases. Departments were instructed to coordinate to promote Bharatpur’s identity and special features highlighted under the Panch Gaurav Program to the public.
District Collector Mr. Kamar Choudhary assured that all instructions would be followed meticulously and directed immediate action by the concerned officials.
