Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade Inspects Various Institutions in Balrampur

Interacted with children at the children’s home, shared warmth with elders at the old age home
Emphasized women’s safety at the Sakhi Centre, inspected the de-addiction centre

Raipur, Sept 2025 : During her visit to Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, Minister of Women & Child Development and Social Welfare, Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, inspected various institutions and reviewed their arrangements. The Minister visited the Children’s Home, Old Age Home, Sakhi Centre, and De-addiction Centre, interacting warmly with children, women, and the elderly, while instructing officials to further improve the facilities at these institutions.

At the Children’s Home, the Minister interacted with the children and inquired about their well-being. The children enthusiastically answered her questions related to studies and sports and also performed Surya Namaskar. The Minister encouraged them to focus on studies as well as actively participate in sports. She inspected the classrooms, kitchen, and health-care facilities, offering constructive suggestions for improvement.

At the Old Age Home, Smt. Rajwade met the elderly residents with affection and inquired about their food and healthcare arrangements. She stressed that efforts should be made to ensure that the elderly are cared for in an environment resembling a family atmosphere.

At the Sakhi Centre, the Minister reviewed the arrangements for emergency assistance, protection from violence, and rapid response mechanisms available for women. She held discussions with the staff and sought detailed information about the center’s activities.

At the De-addiction Centre, the Minister met individuals undergoing rehabilitation and learned about their health conditions and recovery progress. The beneficiaries shared that they had experienced positive changes in their lives after coming to the center. Advising them to adopt yoga and a positive lifestyle, Smt. Rajwade urged them to give up addiction, move towards self-employment, and live a dignified life in society.

During the inspection, Director of the Social Welfare Department Smt. Roktima Yadav, Collector Shri Rajendra Katara, Superintendent of Police Shri Vaibhav Banker Ramanlal, Additional Collector Shri Abhishek Gupta, along with departmental officers and staff, were present.
