On PM Modi’s Birthday, Rajasthan Launches Campaigns and Initiatives
CM Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurates ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan 2025’, urges citizens to play an active role in building a clean and healthy India
Jaipur, Sept 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on behalf of the 8 crore people of Rajasthan on his birthday. He said that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, India has witnessed unprecedented progress over the past 11 years. From Digital India to Make in India, and from Jan Dhan Yojana to Ayushman Bharat, Shri Modi has elevated India to new heights, making it the world’s fourth-largest economy and soon to be the third-largest.
The Chief Minister was addressing the launch ceremony of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan 2025’ at Jaipur’s City Park on Wednesday. He said the Prime Minister’s impactful and efficient leadership has transformed India’s image globally. Cleanliness has always been a priority for him, with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan standing as a shining example. He noted that under Shri Modi’s leadership since 2014, historic steps have been taken for poor welfare, the eradication of terrorism and Naxalism, and for raising India’s stature worldwide. Campaigns like Swachh Bharat, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam have brought positive social change.
From 38% to nearly 100% Toilet Coverage in 11 Years
CM Sharma said the Swachh Bharat Mission, launched on 2 October 2014, has now become a people’s movement. In 2014, only 38% of Indian households had toilets, but with the construction of over 11 crore toilets, the figure today stands close to 100%. The campaign has also played a significant role in waste management, water conservation, and environmental protection.
Jaipur Among Top-20 in National Cleanliness Rankings
He highlighted that Rajasthan has achieved historic milestones in cleanliness surveys. Both Jaipur Greater and Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporations have made it to the Top-20 nationwide rankings. Dungarpur has won a national award in the Super Swachh League category, while Jaipur Greater and Jaipur Heritage both received 3-star ratings under the garbage-free cities category. For the first time, Jaipur Greater was awarded the Water Plus Certificate, which will further strengthen its ranking in the future.
Record Plantation under Hariyalo Rajasthan Campaign
The CM said the Hariyalo Rajasthan campaign, launched last year, aims to plant 50 crore saplings in five years. Against the target of 7 crore saplings last year, 7.5 crore were planted, and this year, against a target of 10 crore, 12 crore saplings have already been planted, setting new records.
Citizens’ Role in Building a Clean Rajasthan
He reminded citizens of the Prime Minister’s appeal during Mann Ki Baat to celebrate festivals with an equal focus on cleanliness. A clean environment boosts tourism and generates employment, he noted. With the festive season approaching, he urged everyone to ensure cleanliness not only in their homes but also in their surroundings to build a clean and healthy Rajasthan. “Every citizen must come forward. Our goal is to make every city and village of Rajasthan clean,” he added.
The CM also administered a cleanliness pledge to the public, appealing for active cooperation in building a cleaner India and making cleanliness a way of life. Before the event, he joined citizens in a shramdaan (voluntary cleanliness drive) at City Park and planted Kadamba and Kalp trees to spread the message of environmental conservation.
On this occasion, Shri Sharma also released the Sewerage Policy, distributed PPE kits to sanitation workers, honored beneficiaries of various schemes, and launched a short film on the Jaipur Swachhata Yatra.
The program was attended by Minister of State for Urban Development (Independent Charge) Shri Jhabar Singh Kharra, MP Smt. Manju Sharma, MLA Shri Gopal Sharma, Jaipur Greater Mayor Dr. Soumya Gurjar, Deputy Mayor Shri Puneet Karnawat, Secretary of the Urban Development Department Shri Ravi Jain, senior officials, and a large gathering of citizens.
