Deputy CM Eknath Shinde Reviews Flood Situation in Marathwada Speaks with Every District Collector Over Phone

Thane, Sept 2025 – Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is closely monitoring the heavy rainfall and flood situation in Marathwada. He held telephonic discussions with the District Collectors of all Marathwada districts and reviewed the ground situation. He directed them to immediately rescue citizens trapped in floodwaters and provide urgent relief with the help of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

Shinde also spoke with the Chief Secretary, as well as the Principal Secretary and Director of the Disaster Management Department, issuing instructions for swift action.

With torrential rains lashing Marathwada, normal life has been completely disrupted. Taking stock of the situation, the Deputy CM emphasized that citizens must be provided immediate assistance. He specifically spoke with the District Collectors of Beed, Dharashiv, Latur, Parbhani, and Hingoli to assess local conditions.

During the review, it came to light that citizens of Dhadgpimpalgaon village in Paranda taluka of Dharashiv district were stranded in floodwaters. Shinde instructed the District Collector to immediately deploy the NDRF and arrange for a helicopter to airlift the affected villagers to safety without delay.

He further directed officials to remain in constant touch with him, seek assistance whenever required, and provide regular updates on the evolving flood situation.
