Invest in Best : Chief Minister invites industry stalwarts to invest in Punjab

Said, Punjab is fully ready to give a big boost to the entertainment and tourism industry

New Delhi, Sept 2025 : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today, while inviting industrialists to become active partners in the socio-economic development of the country, said that the state of Punjab has now emerged as the most preferred place across the world due to its industry-friendly policies and favorable business environment.

While interacting with industrialists here today, the Chief Minister said that industrialists are the backbone of the economy because they provide employment to many families. He said that many leading industrialists have invested and expanded their business in the state because the immense possibilities present in Punjab provide them a favorable atmosphere for investment and help the business to flourish. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that despite having only 1.5 percent of India’s total land, Punjab today contributes 3 percent to the country’s total GDP.

The Chief Minister said that the hardworking and courageous people of this sacred land have created a distinct identity for themselves all over the world. He said that Punjab is the land of great Gurus, saints, and prophets and on Punjab’s fertile soil, anything can grow. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that even though difficult times gave a big setback to the industries of the state, it was recreated and developed well again.

The Chief Minister said that Punjab provides a suitable environment for the shooting of videos and films and it has been leading in every sector. He said that the state government is planning a Film City in Punjab because there are huge possibilities for the film industry here. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this region is full of many natural and beautiful landscapes.

The Chief Minister said that generally in the country and especially in Punjab there is a lack of entertainment infrastructure due to which the entertainment industry is struggling and now the state government is paying special attention in this direction. He said that another cricket stadium is being built in the holy city of Amritsar which will give a big boost to the sports industry. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is working more than finance to promote the industrial sector. He said that adequate electricity is available for industry in the state.

The Chief Minister said that Punjab has five power plants, all of which belong to the state government. He said that the state has large reserves of coal for electricity production. He said that Punjab is the food provider of the country, therefore there are huge possibilities for the food production industry here. He said that the state has truly implemented the single window system. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state is rapidly emerging as the most preferred investment destination across the world. He said that Punjab has always been known for its courageous and entrepreneurial spirit and rich heritage.

He said that in the last three years, big changes and progress have been seen in Punjab’s industrial journey. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that today the state has become a major industrial hub, which has emerged as a leader in food processing, textiles, auto components, hand tools, bicycles, IT, tourism, and other sectors. The Chief Minister said that Punjab’s industrial progress has truly left its mark across the world as investors across the globe have recognized the state’s potential.

The Chief Minister said that since March 2022, Punjab has received investment proposals worth ₹1.23 lakh crore, which has the potential to create more than 4.7 lakh jobs, and due to this Punjab has become an emerging hub in the field of industrial development and innovation. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is a matter of pride and satisfaction that Punjab is home to many international companies, including Nestlé, Claas, Freudenberg, Cargill, Burbio, Danone, and others, who have set up their offices here and are making a big contribution to the state’s economic progress. The Chief Minister said that these international companies have shown trust in Punjab’s immense potential and the favorable environment provided by the state government.

He said that investments from Japan, America, Germany, UK, UAE, Switzerland, France, Spain, and other countries make the state’s global reach clear. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he believes this is just the beginning because Punjab has truly become not only a preferred investment destination for Indian investors but also for people across the world. The Chief Minister said that after assuming office, he has created an investment-friendly environment that promotes ease of doing business.

He said that due to the industry-friendly policies of the state government, Punjab today is at the top in creating an easy business environment. He said that the Punjab government has launched the Fast Track Punjab portal, which is India’s most advanced single-window system. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is eliminating the need for offline applications and ensuring quick approvals, and under the Punjab Right to Business Act, provides principle approval within just five days for eligible units up to ₹125 crore. The Chief Minister further said that Punjab is the first state to introduce some major regulatory reforms, including time-bound approvals within 45 days, demand approval, escalation processes, and extended validity for major licenses.

The Chief Minister said that partnership between government and industry is the key to success and the state government has full confidence that industrial development can only be possible when we work as equal partners. He said that this principle guides the new industrial policy introduced in 2022. He said that this policy has been prepared with the advice and consultation of stalwarts and partners from the industrial sector so that the needs and aspirations of industries can be met. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now the state government has created 24 sectoral committees chaired by industry leaders to prepare policies according to the needs of each industrial sector.

The Chief Minister assured the industrialists that the state government is fully committed to establishing a partnership of equality, transparency, and mutual cooperation with industries and businesses. He said that the state government is committed to making entrepreneurs’ business journeys smooth. To further strengthen this partnership, Bhagwant Singh Mann invited the industrialists to participate in the 6th edition of the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit.

The Chief Minister said that this summit will be held on March 13, 14, and 15, 2026 in Mohali, Punjab, and during this, industrialists, policymakers, and researchers will come together to share ideas and extend cooperation on taking Punjab’s industrial sector to greater heights. He said that the expertise and wisdom of industrialists is extremely important to shape the future of Punjab. He said that this summit will provide an ideal platform to highlight Punjab’s potential, explore opportunities for collaboration, and for networking. The Chief Minister said that together we can create a sustainable, inclusive, and globally competitive industrial environment in Punjab, for which your participation, trust, and commitment is extremely necessary.
