Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Participates in Girl Education Promotion Program on International Girl Child Day

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday participated in the Girl Education Promotion Program organized on the occasion of International Girl Child Day at the Chief Sevak Sadan, located in the Chief Minister’s Camp Office.

The program, organized by the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department, awarded smartphones to 326 meritorious girls. At the district level, the top three girls in High School and Intermediate exams, as well as the top girls at the development block level, were felicitated by the Chief Minister.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister extended his greetings on International Girl Child Day and appreciated the girls for their outstanding performance in board examinations through their hard work, talent, and determination. He stated that this year, 90% of students passed the High School examination, with girls achieving a success rate of over 93%, while 83% passed the Intermediate examination, with girls achieving a success rate of over 86%.

Shri Dhami emphasized that the progress of society depends on women power. He stated that if the women of a state are advancing, no force can stop the state’s development. Educated daughters ensure a brighter future for coming generations.

He highlighted that inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state government provides 30% reservation for women in government jobs and has launched schemes such as the Chief Minister Nari Sashaktikaran Yojana, Chief Minister Mahalakshmi Yojana, Chief Minister Vatsalya Yojana, and Nanda Gaura Yojana. These programs enable daughters to secure government positions and also become self-reliant through self-help groups, startups, and small-scale industries.

The Chief Minister further stated that under the leadership of PM Modi, several historic steps have been taken for women empowerment. Programs such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and Balika Samriddhi Yojana focus on girls’ education, safety, and prosperity. Initiatives such as the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, Ujjwala Scheme, and Lakhpati Didi Yojana honor maternal power.

He noted that schemes like the construction of women hostels, free bicycle scheme, and the Girl Education Promotion Program encourage girls’ education in the state. Many girls aspire to secure government jobs, and to support their dreams, the state has implemented India’s strictest anti-cheating law, which has enabled over 25,000 youths to secure government jobs in the past four years.

Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Smt. Rekha Arya stated that under the leadership of PM Modi and the efforts of CM Dhami, significant progress has been made in women empowerment. The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign encourages girl child births, promotes girls’ education, and supports women empowerment. Since its implementation, the gender ratio in the state has improved.

The event was also attended by MLA Smt. Savita Kapoor, Vice-Chairman of the State Medicinal Plant Board Shri Pratap Singh Panwar, Secretary Shri Chandresh Kumar, and other officials of the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department.
