India Wins Gold in Kabaddi at 3rd Youth Asian Games; Sports Minister Manikrao Kokate Congratulates Serena Mhaskar

Mumbai, Oct 2025 : India clinched a gold medal in kabaddi at the 3rd Youth Asian Games 2025 held in Manama, Bahrain, with complete dominance. Serena Sachin Mhaskar, a talented player from Kanjurmarg, Mumbai, proudly represented India as part of the girls’ kabaddi team.

Maharashtra’s Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Adv. Manikrao Kokate, congratulated Serena Mhaskar and the entire Indian kabaddi team for their outstanding performance.

The games were held from October 19 to 23, 2025. Serena Mhaskar, a player of Swarajya Sports Club, Kanjurmarg (Mumbai Suburban District), brought glory to the country by representing India. Both the boys’ and girls’ Indian kabaddi teams showcased exceptional skill and won gold medals, bringing pride to the nation.

Commending the players, Minister Kokate said, “The achievements of young athletes from Maharashtra at the international level are truly inspirational for the state’s sports community. The government will continue to extend full support to such talented sportspersons.”

Serena’s remarkable accomplishment has created a wave of joy across Mumbai’s suburban district, making her a role model for emerging athletes.

In the final matches, both Indian teams faced Iran — the boys’ team fought a tough contest and won 35–32, while the girls’ team delivered a dominant performance, defeating Iran 75–21 in a one-sided game.
