CM Rekha Gupta Extends Chhath Puja Greetings; Joins Kharna Puja Celebration

Chhath Mahaparv Spreads the Message of Unity, Purity, and Devotion: CM Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, Oct 2025 : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta extended her greetings to the people of Delhi on the occasion of Chhath Puja, saying that the festival is not merely a religious ritual but a radiant symbol of Indian culture that conveys a message of unity, harmony, cleanliness, and devotion. She said Chhath is not just a festival of worship, but also a reflection of discipline, faith, and collective goodwill. The Delhi Government, guided by the mantra “Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi”, is celebrating every festival with public participation and traditional dignity.

CM Rekha Gupta also joined the Kharna Puja celebration today, where she offered prayers with full devotion. She noted that this year marks the first time the Delhi Government is celebrating Chhath Puja on such a large scale across the city. “Chhath is not just about faith it symbolises unity, cooperation, and our shared cultural values. Our goal is to make it a festival that reflects cleanliness, culture, and good governance,” she said. The Chief Minister assured that the government has made all arrangements so that devotees can perform their rituals comfortably. “This year’s Chhath celebrations will be grand, divine, and unforgettable,” she added.

She further said that Chhath is a festival that expresses gratitude to nature and celebrates faith and purity. “It teaches us discipline, sincerity, and collective harmony,” she said, praying that the Sun God bless everyone with happiness, good health, and prosperity.

In the evening, CM Rekha Gupta joined Kharna Puja with the wife of Delhi Assembly Chief Whip Abhay Verma. She prayed alongside the vrati (devotee), sought blessings from Chhathi Maiya, and accepted prasad. “I prayed that Chhathi Maiya bless every family in Delhi with peace, prosperity, and good health,” she said.

The Chief Minister added that Delhi is not just India’s capital it is a living example of cultural diversity and unity. “The spirit of this festival can be seen in every street, ghat, and home across the city. Delhi is modern, yet deeply rooted in tradition and that makes us proud,” she said.

Concluding her message, CM Rekha Gupta prayed that Delhi always remains happy, clean, safe, and prosperous. “May the Sun God fill our city with energy, hope, and light, and may Delhi continue to grow with harmony and progress,” she said.
