Government Approves Two Pune Metro Sub-Routes from Hadapsar to Loni Kalbhor and Hadapsar Bus Depot to Saswad Road

Mumbai, Nov 2025 : Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced that the state government has approved the implementation of two metro rail sub-routes under Pune Metro Phase-2 (Khadakwasla–Swargate–Hadapsar–Kharadi corridor)—Hadapsar to Loni Kalbhor and Hadapsar Bus Depot to Saswad Road. The approval was granted during a meeting of the Cabinet Infrastructure Committee held today at Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Pune district, Ajit Pawar, had been consistently pursuing these proposals. The two sub-routes—Hadapsar to Loni Kalbhor and Hadapsar Bus Depot to Saswad Road—together span 16 km and will include a total of 14 elevated stations. These fully elevated metro projects will be implemented by Maha Metro at an estimated cost of ₹5,704 crore. Pawar stated that these two projects will help reduce traffic congestion in Pune city. Additionally, the Pune Metro network will expand further eastward, enabling metro connectivity for the rural areas surrounding eastern Pune. This expansion will provide lakhs of passengers with fast and safe transportation.

Pawar further added that with these two sub-routes under Pune Metro Phase-2, rapidly growing suburbs like Hadapsar, Fursungi, Loni Kalbhor, and Saswad will finally receive metro connectivity. The metro will help save travel time and reduce pollution, he said.
