Rajasthan Strengthens Road Infrastructure Under CM Bhajanlal Sharma; ₹24,976 Crore Spent on 36,140 km Road Network
Jaipur, Nov 2025 . Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Rajasthan government is giving top priority to developing safe and accessible roads across the state. In a phased manner, the government is actively improving state highways, upgrading and widening roads, strengthening infrastructure, expanding national highways, and constructing ROBs, RUBs, and high-level bridges. These initiatives are giving a major boost to the overall development of the state.
12,391 works sanctioned for road development
Acting on the Chief Minister’s directions, the state has spent ₹24,976 crore to develop 36,140 km of roads. Additionally, 12,391 works worth ₹14,816 crore have been sanctioned for the development of 28,600 km of roads.
To strengthen the rural road network, 1,564 villages and hamlets have been newly connected with roads. Furthermore, ₹1,328 crore has been sanctioned for 3,543 km of missing link roads. Likewise, ₹813 crore has been approved for constructing 327 Atal Pragati Paths.
6,249 km of state highways developed
In more than 22 months of governance, the state has consistently enhanced and expanded highway facilities in line with CM Sharma’s vision.
So far, 6,249 km of state highways have been developed at a cost of ₹8,194 crore, while work is underway on 8 state highways at a cost of ₹2,547 crore.
To improve connectivity with district headquarters, over 5,000 km of roads have been upgraded to major district roads.
National highways strengthened; railway crossings becoming safer
Under the “double-engine government,” Rajasthan is witnessing significant national highway development.
- 600 km of national highways have already been widened and strengthened.
- Work is in progress on another 457 km of national highways.
To ensure safer railway crossings:
- Construction of 10 Road Over Bridges (ROBs) has been completed, and 33 ROBs are under construction.
- 14 Road Under Bridges (RUBs) have been completed, while construction of another 14 RUBs is ongoing.
- 11 high-level bridges have been completed, and 15 more are currently under construction.
With rapid expansion from villages to cities, Rajasthan’s road network is becoming stronger and more accessible, easing travel for citizens and accelerating the development of the state.
